The Porter Group was established in 1945 when the late Arthur Porter began building roads and winning civil engineering contracts in New Zealand. Arthur began importing heavy equipment and parts, establishing the Porter name and laying the foundation for the Group’s core business. With 50 retail locations, the Porter Group is now one of the largest privately-owned heavy equipment identities in New Zealand and Australia.

Today, every division within the Group supports the core business, and this clear focus is a key to the Group’s continuing success. Porter Equipment sells new and used machines. Porter Hire rents machines. Our Porter Parts division supplies parts. Porter Mechanical Service repairs and services machines. and Porter Finance provides a full range of machine financing options. With seven retail locations across Australia, our Trans-Tasman operations continue to flourish.
